[The clicking sound coming towards her may be familiar to anyone who's ever had a dog and hardwood floors. But as it rounds the corner it's very much not a dog. The puffy white wolf pads right up to the kitten sniffing it once before licking it and then gently closing its jaws on the scruff of its neck and starting to carry it away.]

[The man who runs up after the wolf looks haggard and out of breath. He's wearing a green deputy outfit though the pouches and holster on his belt are conspicuously empty.]
