[ Oh, Ben hadn't been prepared for the accent. It surprises him, but unlike Aziraphale, he is a good liar. So his only reaction, externally, is a few blinks slightly more rapid than they otherwise would be. Then he sets it aside and listens.

It doesn't take all that much insight to tell that he'd given a pre-prepared 'I'm fine,' the kind you use when you really aren't but you aren't willing or quite able to admit it. If Ben had been on the receiving end of a fib that bad from Klaus or Diego or one of his other siblings, Ben would have just sarcastically raised his eyebrows and waited for them to crack. But that's the kind of thing you can pull with a sibling and not a stranger.

Instead he gives a little shrug, and nudges gently: ]

If you're gonna use the other people here as a comparison, I'm pretty sure none of us are tip-top. At least not every day.

[ And the fact that he'd brought up adjusting suggests: ]

[ He's pretty much already guessed that is the case but he's trying to coax Aziraphale into talking about what's bothering him a little. When the older man begins to worry that the library is public, Ben holds up a hand as if to wave the concern away. ]

No no, it's open to anybody, any time. It's not mine, I'm just taking care of it, 'cause I found it... and I guess it reminds me of home, too.

[ At least it reminds him of the not-shitty parts. But that's neither here nor there. ]

Normally, I wouldn't bother you, you just - looked really sad, and you have the last couple times too, so I was worried.
