Kieran’s head is reeling with more questions than answers for Cho’s queries (like “What is a vegetarian?” and “By medical services do you mean a plain ol’ doctor?”), and for a good few moments the only things he’s certain of are his name and that he’s thoroughly confused. Even then, with the way his heart is still madly pumping and his limbs shaking, he’s not entirely convinced of the former. So, when he takes Cho’s hand for a shake, his response is a bit unsure.
“Kieran. My name’s Kieran.”
There, not so bad.
He glances at the vine Cho’s pointed out and nods, committing it along with their surroundings to memory. In a time and place he’s rapidly coming to realize is all-but-obsolete, that’s how he would get around. An odd-shaped hill here and an old twisted tree there would be all he needed to paint a picture in his mind’s eye on how to navigate the vast, sweeping lands he called home—however temporary.
“Thanks fer your help, Cho. And, uh, I guess sorry, too.”
That wasn’t exactly the best first impression he gave.
