I grew up a superhero celebrity, remember? And my sister Allison was basically obsessed with keeping tabs on all our media coverage, and making sure we knew about it - even the stuff making fun of us. So, yeah. You're gonna have to dig a little deeper.

[ The fact that all that had gone on when Ben was a young teenager is maybe not actually all that funny when you stop to think about it for too long, but that's true of most things in his life, and he has to find humor somewhere after all. Certain of those comments and jokes had mattered a lot more to him at one point, but then he'd died and that tended to put things in perspective. ]

No damage - nothing short-term anyway. Long term it's definitely not good for my blood pressure, um... being in that much pain. But nothing to worry about for today.

[ And just to show how fine he is, Ben gets to his feet again, and only winces a very little. It's just lingering, now. The feeling of having used his powers. The bitter aftertaste of all that fear and the numb ache in his throat from screaming. ]
