I mean, would that be any weirder than any of the other stuff that goes on here?

[ On the scale of scientifically improbable to absolutely batshit shouldn't-be-possible, animals that glow in the dark is pretty low. Ben's gaze remains fixed on that restless, bouncing little bird, not noticing the look Klaus is giving him. There's something a little hypnotic about it, the way that small light moves through the darkness. ]

There are glowworms. Some kinds of jellyfish. Squids. It's not unprecedented.

[ Ben takes a small step closer, wanting to see the bird from nearer, but it startles and flies away. He blows out a sigh through puffed cheeks, shoulders sagging. But there are more lights visible further off. In the air, and on the ground, too. In greens and magentas and pale blue. ]

If we could touch one, we'd know if they were real or not.

[ Yes he is making this logic up as he goes, but he'd whined so much about not wanting to come here and now he wants to go further in, see more glowing animals, but he's not about to admit outright that Klaus was right to drag him here and he's happy he came. ]
