[CLOSED] It's time to SCIENCE

WHO: Starscream & Qubit
WHEN: Backdated, ambiguously mid March, but before the renegade plants log and this NPC network post
WHERE: R&D Labs
WHAT: Per their discussion on Starscream's network post, he and Qubit are attempting to cobble together an energon distiller.
WARNINGS: N/A

Starscream had stuffed as many of the raw energon crystals into his subspace as he was able to carry before returning to Anchor, where they'd remained while he'd scavenged materials from all over the colony in preparation for assembling the energon processor. If they could get the whole batch refined, he would have enough energon for the rest of the month, perhaps even two if he was stringent in his fueling.

There are definite physical changes from the last time Qubit saw Starscream, over a month ago before he'd left for the planetary wastes on his search. His finish is much more scuffed with the polished shine of his exterior is now dull. His optics are noticeably dimmer too, and while his movements are still as precise as ever, there's a tangible weariness to them now, as if everything takes more energy than he can easily dredge up. He's hungry, his tanks depleted, and with that comes an even more pronounced irritability.

Despite these variances, he regards Qubit as coolly as ever. Starscream reaches into his subspace and retrieves a basketball-sized chunk of crystallized energon, placing it on the workbench in front of Qubit. It's a luminous blue, and emits a minute reading of radioactivity when scanned. Nothing harmful, but present.

"Did you have success with the cube design?"
