[Carlisle frowns behind his mask, having a hard time picturing a disillusioned Qubit. Not that it's not understandable how he could have once been that way, of course — even with his limited scope and relatively short existence, Carlisle witnessed plenty of the worst the living had to offer in his world. In a way, he became the embodiment of it: much of his bitterness came from the way he'd been treated in life, and unfortunately, it was the people of Bear Den who suffered because of it. He'd never even had a chance to live up to the legacy of his family.
