[Yakuza, but yes. He wouldn't say his childhood was bad, especially since he was a spoiled rich brat who got pretty much everything he wanted. But it sure didn't make socializing or making friends easy. Now that he wasn't a part of that life anymore he had to relearn how to be a person, which was even more difficult once he stopped considering himself a person in the first place. It was hard to pretend to be human when he thought of himself as some sort of cyborg hybrid, neither human nor robot.
