Julie would like to think that Klaus wouldn't lie to her, but she knows what addiction can do to a person. She knows what trauma can do to a person. She knows how those things, and so many other traits that she and Klaus share, can create in their combination the need to compulsively lie whether you want to or not. It creates a selfish driving force that makes you say anything you can to cover the truth.
