Whether he teleported or was simply hidden, he didn't appear in the room because whatever Ben says, Cole is scared of her and the spirit in her.
Cole does finally step in, quiet and hiding under his hat. For a moment, he seems to simply fade away and was he there at all-?
And then snap back. "No, have to stay. I'm Cole-who-was-Compassion. You're Ami who is also-"
