Reynir, who is a bit gullible on the best of days, doesn't doubt that Jacob is as seasoned a traveler as his words seem to imply. He certainly has the scars for it, and his understated reaction to the sudden lack of light seems to indicate he's used to trouble.
What he isn't sure of is whether Jacob is, in some way, the cause of this trouble.
"Because you have arrived, or by coincidence?"
Is he talking to a human, he suddenly wonders, or some kind of mischievous spirit in the form of a human? Anything is possible, after all. Reynir thinks of what Onni would tell him, and while he looks towards Jacob, he avoids looking him directly in the eyes, at least, for the time being.
"Find out how? I'm... not really an electrician or anything..."
He'd grown up in a house with electricity, sure, but that doesn't mean he actually knows all that much about it. Reynir is handy and knowledgeable about a lot of topics, but anything tech related or scientific really just isn't it. He's accepted that about himself.
