Marian is still frowning, though a little more thoughtfully and with a certain unease. Spirits wouldn't be the word she'd use, but she had seen something like that. More explicable than not at all, but only just barely; what exactly the nature of their consciousness was, was something Marian didn't have the tools to speculate on. Self-styled 'emissaries'... the word was too light for the intentions of those things.
