[It's early (ish, she thinks) and Julie is counting the tally-marks on the wall in the bedroom - one for every day they've been here, and she hasn't missed a day. She counts, counts again, and then crawls back over the bed to press a kiss into the dark curls at Klaus' temple and settle herself comfortably against his side.]

Hey. [She coos softly, her heart bursting with affection from the moment he looks at her. God, it's so much, and so dangerous to feel like this for someone in a place like this one, when you never know when it could be the last time you see them. It's risky, but she's caught with not even a cursory attempt at escape.]

I know something interesting~ [Julie continues in a light, sing-song voice. She lets the pause hang, kisses the corner of his mouth, and smiles.] We've been here more than six months.

[And apart from the occasional hiccup... he's been clean that whole time. She leans on his chest, her arms folded under her chin, and she finds that she just can't stop smiling.]

I'm so proud of you.

[Klaus isn't a heavy sleeper, so when Julie stirs beside him and leaves the bed, Klaus groans and rolls over and falls back into a light doze, his arm slung across the warm space still in the bed where she was lying. He's not really aware of how long she's been out of bed when she crawls back in and kisses his temple and lies down with him, and he moves instinctively to accommodate her in the bed.

Rolling onto his side so he can look at her, his arm draped across the curve of her waist, he offers her a dopey smile, still half-asleep, and hums softly. It's so weird, feeling like this. Having someone look at him like that. Time alone had been a precious and rare commodity in Nam and he hadn't had this much opportunity to just lie around and be in love with Dave like this, and so this feels more real. Still a little hard to believe right now, though.]

Mmm, morning gorgeous. And hm?

[As Julie says she knows something interesting, and points out they've been here more than six months, Klaus' brow furrows a little with confusion, rolls onto his back again so she can lie halfway on top of him. He doesn't really get it until she says she's proud of him, and then he lets out a huff of laughter.]

Oh. Wow. Really?

[He's pretty as a picture (and she almost takes one, but decides on joining him back in bed instead) even when he's so sleep-ruffled and Julie can't quite believe how in love she is. It hasn't been like this since Perry, what feels like so long ago now, but she's certain that Klaus wouldn't break her heart like he had.]

Mm, really. [She says, leaning up to plant another little kiss on his mouth. It might have been hard to believe that he'd ever get this far, and she really is so very proud of what he's been able to achieve.]

We should do something today. Something to celebrate. [Her fingertip runs an idle circle on the soft, warm skin of his chest and she cants her head slightly to one side.] What do you think? Maybe something fun, something to eat... then we can come back here, and...

[She trusts that the brief press of her lips to his chest while she looks up at his eyes makes her final point for her.]
