By this point, Scaramouche has decided on a course of action and that's to keep close to a wall at all times. A hand darts out to brace him against one when he takes things too fast--yet again--and feels a knee give way from under him. His fingers splay out and bend to steady him as he looks for his center of balance.

He heaves a low, weary sigh and replies, "Sure I am," not bothering to look at who's asking.
