[It's Vietnam that's changed the way he interacts with other people in dangerous or unknown situations just as much as Hadriel. Now, he feels the need to keep his comrades in sight so they can't get killed while he can't see them, he wants to make sure his brother is alright because he hasn't seen him for months. Klaus is mostly sober and Ben is alive, and he couldn't live with himself if Ben died now, was hurt now. He can't get the image of how his brother died out of his head for a few moments, doesn't want to see him like that ever again.

The bots don't really startle Klaus at first, not until they start moving in response to his voice. Then he feels the tension slowly crawl up his spine as he remembers the Null and what they'd done to him, the confusion beams, the burns and bruises, the weeks in the jungle fighting for his life and to protect Drake and his other friends in the city.

But this isn't a Null, and Ben leaps between him and the bot immediately, and Klaus had almost forgotten what it was like to have someone around who would protect him, have his back, fight at his side, someone who he'd trust to do those things even if they were arguing. There's something incredibly soothing about having a sibling here, who he trusts instinctively even when he doesn't like him much.

Though he loves Ben, without question.

When the bot says to sit down because he's in need of medical assistance and Ben steps aside, Klaus settles on one of the chairs, putting down his bag to the side and breathing slow and shallow, eyes warily on the bot. Ben is here, watching out for him, and he trusts Ben's judgement more than he trusts his own, so he allows it to approach, shrugs off his vest and shirt, wincing a little at the movement, so the bot can see his injury.]

Seems okay, I think? Hopefully...
