It's actually a little worrying to Drake, how fast Peter seems to calm down. Despite how accustomed he is to compartmentalizing and forcing himself calm in crisis situations -- or, actually, maybe because of that -- he knows it isn't always the healthiest thing. There's prioritizing, then there's repressing, and he gets the feeling Peter is blaming himself for something big right about now. The fact is they can't do anything for Joe at the moment, but he can be there for Peter.

He gets the rest of his gear off and hangs it back up, then holds out a hand to take Peter's as well.

"You know there was nothing we could do for him, right? No matter how much we want to help... even if something in him hadn't been attacking, and he'd been willing to come back in, I doubt he would've made it through the decon in that state. Maybe we can figure out a way to help him from here, once we know what's going on."

They tried, that's probably more than most people can say. Drake doesn't feel great about how it went, but... they honestly did their best.
