'Sickness in the soul', he says, and Julie realises that's exactly what she's trying to get at. What he says about R, though - and it has to be R that he's talking about, she doesn't even need to wonder - forms a small lump in her throat and she only holds Cole's gaze for a moment before she's looking away, looking down, feeling strange and guilty that she's somehow moved on without that soft-spoken, quirky zombie she fell in love with.

"Shit," she mutters, shaking her head, trying to shake the thought off, only partly succeeding. She hasn't missed him in months. Not like this.
