Annie is almost as small as Cho is, but between the two of them, they make for a surprisingly efficient rubble clearing team. Annie is smart. When Cho tells her where they're applying levers, where the larger chunks will fall, she understands it easily. They get some of the biggest pieces to fall onto a small rug that lets the two of them then drag them away from the door. It's not the most efficient system, but they're able to do it by themselves, and that's what counts.

Annie seems less thrilled with the books than Cho is, but that's all right. She knows that the things that bring her joy are a little off center a lot of the time. It's a slightly odd question, perhaps, but having already been to another universe where not everyone was familiar with the world as she knew it, continents and countries and languages as she knew them, she's prepared for it. "French is a language," she tells Annie, still picking books up off the ground, trying to sort them into piles based on their language, forced to guess on the ones that are completely alien to her. "It's what they speak in France, which is a country in the world I first came from. Does everyone speak the same language, where you came from? Or are there different languages for different areas or cultures in your world?"
